In addition to everything you recommend, I’d add something I tell all of my career transition clients: networking is never limited to so-called networking events. Networking happens every time you meet someone, on or off the job, within the work place or at your gym, the store, in your neighborhood, wherever you go and connect with people. Always stay open and genuinely curious, and your network will grow exponentially without the process being exhausting to you.
